FIRST SCREENING OF THE MASTER

THE MASTER is one of the most anticipated Oscar potential movies of the year. directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, It is a 1950s-set drama centered on the relationship between a charismatic intellectual known as “the Master” whose faith-based organization begins to catch on in America, and a young drifter who becomes his right-hand man. It is rumored to be loosely based on Scientology. It stars some of the best actors we have today; Joaquin Phoenix, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Amy Adams, and Laura Dern.

The Weinstein Company is behind it and plan a big Oscar push. They recently decided to movie up the release date to September 14th in hopes that it will have more time to maintain its buzz through all of awards season. It  was also recently announced that it would play at the Toronto and Venice film festivals next month.
