We are 2 weeks away from the release of THE MASTER. There has been a lot of Oscar talk leading up to the release, including Best Picture. Since a handful of critics have screened it, the Best Picture buzz has died down. Mostly because everyone is walking away without knowing what the hell the movie is about. Sasha Stone at AWARDSDAILY tweeted to me “to win best picture it has to have an actual plot“.  She has a good point. Although “art” is always subjective, it has to have a “plot” to be fully appreciated. It is still in the running for a BP nomination, but probably not a win.

The word on the street now is major acting nominations for Amy Adams, Joaquin Phoenix and Philip Seymour Hoffman.

THE MASTER is competing for the Golden Lion in the 69th Venice Film Festival, between August 29 and September 8.

Here is the final trailer for THE MASTER.
