-Voting for Oscar nominations began Monday morning at 8am Pacific and ends Jan. 3 at 5pm Pacific. Online voting is now available for the fist time in it’s 85 years.

-The members had to register to vote online. Those who did not will be sent paper ballots.

-15 of the 24 categories are represented on the ballot the others require that the voter attend a screening.

-All Academy members can pick up to five films for Best Picture and also nominate contenders in the categories that apply to their branch.

-Nominees will be announced on Jan. 10. This will be the first time that nominations will be announced before The Golden Globes happen Jan. 13th.
