The PGA is the first of many nominations that will be announced in the next 2 weeks. Oscar ballots are due Friday, so a majority of ballots have already been submitted. In previous years the Producers Guild, Writers Guild and all important Directors Guild announced before Oscar votes were due. The Oscar voters would often see how the guild nominations played out before casting their votes. They can’t do that this year. They are for the first time “on their own”. The few people who are waiting until Friday to vote may consider the PGA nominations that were announced on Wednesday….
