Steve McQueen’s 12 YEARS A SLAVE has won the audience awards at the Toronto International Film Festival. It is now the front-runner to win best picture. It is only September, but at least it starts the conversation. Last years winner was SILVER LININGS PLAYBOOK (ugh!) and went on to get a nomination.
First runner-up was PHILOMENA, and second runner-up was PRISONERS.
