American Honey Premieres at Cannes

American Honey one of the 21 films in competition premiered at the Cannes Film Festival last night. It is the longest film in the bunch at 162 minutes.

American Honey is about A teenage girl with nothing to lose joins a travelling magazine sales crew, and gets caught up in a whirlwind of hard partying, law bending and young love as she criss-crosses the Midwest with a band of misfits. It stars Sasha Lane and Shia Lebouef in what is being described as his best performance to date.

Reviews were mostly positive with a few complaints for lack of actual story. Jeff Wells wrote “American Honey has no story, could use a trim…but it’s pretty great”.

No US release date yet.
