The 13th Opens the New York Film Festival

The 54th annual New York film festival opened Friday night with Ava DuVernay’s documentary The 13th. This is the  first time a documentary has opened New York and a Netflix film to boot. Boy have times changed. Some of the rave reviews from last night:


Awardscircuit called it one of the best documentaries ever made. 

The 13th will play in some theaters to qualify for an Oscar run and can be seen on Netflix on beginning October 7th.
