Studios Begin For Your Consideration Campaigns 

If you are a studio working to set up your film for awards contention, you need to start early. Create a buzz and give the movie some to “breathe”. Leave some time to recover from negative press or anyone else who tries to take your film down. 

Amazon Studios, Paramount Pictures, and Walt Disney Pictures all opened their “for your consideration” sites this week. The websites show screening dates and information about the films that are being pushed for consideration. 

Focus Features scheduled their first screenings for awards season . A Monster Calls, Kubo and the Two Strings, Nocturnal Animals and Loving from Jeff Nichols is a major contender for them. Rumor had it that Amy Adams was going to campaign for Supporting actress for Nocturnal Animals as to not compete with herself in Arrival. Focus Features cleared that up confirmed that Adams was going for Best Actress for Nocturnal. 

Paramount Pictures announced their first screenings for Allied, Arrival, Florence Foster Jenkins. Screenings for Silence and Fences will be announced soon. 

Universal Pictures launched their site today. Films include  The Girl on the Train, Sing and Hail, Caesar!. 

CBS Films will have their first Academy screening on Thursday for Hell or High Water. They are shoping for Best Picture, Director and Original Screenplay for the highly acclaimed film. 

Netflix is hoping to break into the Oscar race with screenings for the documentaries The13th Amanda Knox, Audrie & Daisy. As well as Into the Inferno, Sky Ladder, Tallulah, The Ivory Game and The animated film The Little Prince.
