Jackie is quickly becoming a part of the Oscar conversation. Mostly for Natalie Portman’s  performance. The Best Actress appears to be between Portman and Emma Stone in La La Land.
Jackie follows Jacqueline Kennedy in the days when she was First Lady in the White House and her life following the assassination of her husband, President John F. Kennedy, in 1963. It focuses on Theodore H. White’s Life magazine interview with the widow at Hyannis Port, Massachusetts.

Jackie had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival in September. It also screened at the Toronto Film Festival. The critics reactions have been strong, especially for Portman.

The official trailer was released today. It’s surely an “Oscar bait” trailer and a little on the nose, but take a look for yourself.
