One of the few movies left to be seen is David O’ Russell’s JOY. Jennifer Lawrence plays Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop, who went on to great success after selling her first invention on QVC.

JOY is inline to be a major Oscar contender this year for best picture, best actress, director and screenplay.

A teaser poster for THE REVENANT was released this week. Opening in limited theaters on Christmas Day, THE REVENANT goes wide on January 8th. At this point in the race and sight unseen, it’s hard to imagine Leonardo Dicaprio not winning his first Oscar this year. The tea leaves are also pointing towards a best picture nomination.

THE REVENANT captures a man’s epic adventure of survival and the power of the human spirit.  Hugh Glass (DiCaprio) is attacked by a bear and left for dead by members of his hunting team. With a will survive, he endures unimaginable grief and betrayal. It was directed by last years best director winner Alejandro G. Iñárritu.

Will he or wont he is the big question this year. Could Leonardo DiCaprio be snubbed for best actor again? Its unlikely based on the new trailer for THE REVENANT.
